Lorena Jaume-Palasí

Lorena is founder of the initiative The Ethical Tech Society. Her research focuses on the ethics of digitalization and automation and, in this context, on questions of legal philosophy. She was appointed 2017 by the Government of Spain in the Council of Eminent Persons on Artificial Intelligence and reappointed 2020 to the Government’s National Advisory Board on Artificial Intelligence. She is also member of the International Advisory Board of the European Parliament's Science and Technology Options Assessment (STOA) Panel and of the Public Advisory Board of the Max Planck’s Intelligent Systems Initiative “Cybervalley”. 2018 she was awarded a Theodor Heuss Medal “for the contribution to a differentiated consideration of algorithms and their mechanisms of action” with the AlgorithmWatch initiative.
